I also collected some Ha frames, which have been included in the downloadable dataset, but unfortunately they are of very poor quality. To capture the subtle Ha details in this object, it really needs to be photographed when the Moon is not present - a lesson for the future.



The Ha signal is there, but its quality is very low and it adds very little to the final image. I did not use it at all in my own processing.



The luminance and RGB data, on the other hand, are excellent and of exceptionally high quality.

Thanks I have quite a few data sets waiting but the ones I have processed have been excellent. I do not yet put any iimage on line as I have had many health issues and difficulties with software and hardware. I am a 73 year old learner with defective colour vision and barely 3 months using PixInsight and Photoshop cc so it is as steep for me as it is difficult to see stars in my letterbox of Bortle 7 city sky…

This dataset captures Markarian's Chain and the M87 Galaxy (NGC 4486, also known as the Virgo Galaxy) over 41.08 hours of total integration time. Acquired between April 9 and June 6, 2026, using a Sky-Watcher Esprit 120mm telescope and ZWO ASI2600MM Pro camera on an AM5 mount, the data includes 106 luminance frames at 600 seconds each, 25 green frames, 24 blue frames, and 24 red frames at 300 seconds each, plus 104 narrowband H-alpha frames at 600 seconds. All filters are Antlia 2.00 inch format. The dataset is available as a one-time purchase for roughly $22.90 under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license, permitting copying, modification, and redistribution for non-commercial purposes. This combination of broadband LRGB and narrowband hydrogen-alpha data offers substantial depth for processing this famous galaxy cluster region in the Virgo constellation.
