Descripción
LBN 28, the "Chinese Dragon" — a sinuous ridge of glowing hydrogen and dark dust whose winding shape evokes a dragon coiling through a rich, dusty stretch of the Milky Way. Captured in dual-narrowband (Antlia ALP-T 3nm Ha+OIII) on an Askar 91F with a ZWO ASI585MC, from Bortle 7 Sydney skies over eight nights — a deep dataset on a subtle target. It's strongly Ha-dominated: the hydrogen carries all the structure, so process it as an Ha-weighted HOO. Plenty of signal for a dramatic, dusty rendering.

Thanks I have quite a few data sets waiting but the ones I have processed have been excellent. I do not yet put any iimage on line as I have had many health issues and difficulties with software and hardware. I am a 73 year old learner with defective colour vision and barely 3 months using PixInsight and Photoshop cc so it is as steep for me as it is difficult to see stars in my letterbox of Bortle 7 city sky…

This was a fun image to process, especially since I had never worked with the Askar D2 filters before. One thing to note is that the three files are not quite star-aligned correctly, so be sure to do that first before processing these data yourself.

Great data. I am a PixInsight newbie but have 6 months of astrophotography experience courtesy of Seestar. The Chinese Dragon Nebula NGC 6559 dataset comprises 36.9 hours of integration time captured between June 30 and August 7, 2026. All 443 frames were acquired through an Antlia ALP-T filter at 300-second exposures using an Askar 91F APO Refractor paired with a ZWO ASI585MC Air camera on an ML-Astro SAL33 mount. This emission and reflection nebula complex in Sagittarius presents intricate dust lanes and glowing hydrogen regions that give rise to its dragon-like appearance. The dataset is available as a free download under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license, permitting copying, modification and redistribution for non-commercial purposes. The extended integration time provides substantial signal depth for processing this relatively faint nebular structure adjacent to the better-known Lagoon Nebula region.
