NGC 6188, also known as the Rim Nebula, is a striking emission nebula in the constellation Ara. This dataset captures the nebula's intricate structure through narrowband imaging, combining 150 frames in Baader 7nm Hydrogen-alpha (12.5 hours) with 111 frames in Baader 8.5nm Oxygen-III (9.25 hours) for a total integration of 21.75 hours. Each sub-exposure lasted 300 seconds.
The data was acquired between March 24 and April 28, 2026, using a Redcat 61 telescope paired with a ZWO ASI1600MM Pro monochrome camera, tracked on a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTI mount. The dual narrowband approach isolates the nebula's ionized hydrogen and oxygen emissions, revealing the complex filamentary structures that give NGC 6188 its dramatic appearance.
