This dataset captures the Lagoon Nebula (NGC 6523) alongside the Trifid Nebula (M20) and the Chinese Dragon region (NGC 6559), a trio of emission nebulae in Sagittarius. The data comprises 75 frames at 240 seconds each through a Svbony UV/IR cut filter, totaling 5 hours of integration collected on 22 August 2025. Imaging was performed with an Askar 65PHQ Quintuple APO refractor paired with a ZWO ASI294Mc Pro colour camera on an HEQ5 Pro mount.
The Lagoon Nebula is one of the brightest star-forming regions visible from Earth, spanning roughly three times the diameter of the full Moon. This field offers rich detail in hydrogen-alpha emission, dark dust lanes, and the contrasting blue reflection components of the Trifid. The dataset is released under CC BY 4.0 and available as a free download, allowing unrestricted use with appropriate attribution.
